Service charge = kids 13 and under.$5?

NCL site indicates that service charge of $12 per person is charged to guests over 3 yrs of age.

 

Many threads indicate that children 13 and under service charges are $5 per day. Can anyone confirm?

Yep. Confirmed. However, there have been several good rants on the topic from those that don't believe that their kids need as much "care" as an adult and should not be subject to the charge (I should have to pay double for my 13 year old. lol)

Sounds like the price before Jan 09.

 

You could be looking at old threads , or people who haven't cruised since then.

I have read several posts from cruisers who intend to reduce the DSC to $5 or so because they don't think they should have to pay full price for their kids --- maybe that is what the OP is referring to?? I never understand the reasoning, when my kids were younger I think the staff deserved every cent of the service charge!

We travel with our 2 kids in the same cabin and have always *gladly* paid the same *service charge* for them as us.

 

Having to set up the sofa & pullman beds are a chore in itself ... esp. in those tight Epic wave cabins ;)

My point was to know what to expect, I too gladly pay the service charge, and reward the DR waiters extra too.

 

I have found that these service people work very hard for their money.
