Rancher Dave Posted November 15, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2010 No, ships are fine ....Labadee is far away from the problem areas To reinforce, there are mountains so the rain which sometimes helps to spread the dirty water around...while it runs down mountains via streams etc...towards the coast would not hit infected areas on the way to Labadee...sadly on the other side of the mountains it is less good. Best practices while there be sure to only drink known source clean water, only eat food known to have been prep'd in clean kitchens...wash your hands etc...same things you should do anytime you travel, heck even at home...practice good hygene and your chance of getting sick is so small. Our mission trip crews have had no problems down there and some are in areas where the cholera is being confirmed among those mot practicing the high level of hygene recomended. sjcruiser Posted November 15, 2010 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2010 The whole show was really good, and my buddy Andy Rooney, was a hoot as always. It's just mind boggling the red tape that the Haitian Government is causing in not allowing crates of materials into the country. Ofcourse this is probably due to corruption, and nsomeone not getting their cut. You'r getting a $600 check to release shipping crates, but you hold it up because on a govt. seal. Then the PM's office who handles these problems deny knowing about them until 60 minutes start asking questions? He probably wanted more money!!
