2SeaWithMe Posted November 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2010 I have a travel sized flat iron (for hair, not clothing). I actually just purchased it for my fancy new haircut that I apparently "need it" to do, according to my hairdresser. Are they ok, or a no no? Chrislynn55 Posted November 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2010 I've always taken mine in my carry-on and never had any kind of problem. It will be going with me again on my Summit cruise in May.
2SeaWithMe Posted November 23, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted November 23, 2010 Thanks...it's only four inches total, so I'll just risk it.

Luv2Travel64 Posted November 23, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2010 FYI: Mercury 11/8/10 cruise out of Baltimore -- a table mate had her travel iron confiscated -- it was in her checked luggage and she was told she had a "hazardous material" in her bag and it was taken out. I don't know if she got it when she left the ship at the end of the cruise (I am assuming it was returned to her).

I actually checked today when verifying my OBC and it's allowed, as well as a hairdresser. It's made for travel, as well, so it takes up significantly less electricity. I hadn't seen it in the online policy before, so I feel like a dunce for asking here. ;)
