Riviera Marriott Hotel La Porte de Monaco

Is the Riviera Marriott within walking distance of the casino and other Monaco night life? I'm booked with Rewards points, which I would like to use, but don't want to be too isolated for a one night stay.

On the map its about 1 mile away, so normally that would a "yes" for us but there are surely hills, busy roads, etc. to contend with?

Bonjour!

The Riviera Marriott is situated directly at the border between Monaco and France, next to the Cap d‘Ail Yacht Port and the Monaco heli port for easy and quick transfers between Nice airport and Monaco (http://www.heliairmonaco.com).

The „night life“ of Monte Carlo is a bit far to walk, though, but there is

a frequent local bus service directly to Monte-Carlo Casino Square (line # 6) until 8.30 p.m.

an hourly night line bus service until 2 a.m. and

taxis cost approx € 12 one way from the hotel to Monte-Carlo.

The night life spots of Monaco can be found in the Port of Monaco, around Casino Square and along Avenue Princesse Grace. There‘s much choice.

More information can be found in print publications at the Tourist Office of Monaco and on the web http://www.cityoutmonaco.com. Night life starts not before 11 p.m. and goes on all night.

However, walking in Monaco is easy and secure, with a lot of short-cuts of elevators and escalators, indicated in the city map, which make it easy to get from one part of town to another. If you will be in Monaco in summertime, people are on the streets all night, enjoying the warm summer nights and kind of outdoor-club-hopping. It‘s fun.

Enjoy your time in the Principality.
