Beach Recommendation for Dec 13 please!

We are in SJ from noon until 8 pm, and want to beach it. It appears that Escambron Beach may be closed on Mon and Tues--can someone confirm please?

 

We want a swimming beach which is clean and relatively quiet. Would be great it if was on a bus line or a short cab ride--all suggestions welcome!

 

We're leaving on Thursday 12/2 for a 12/3 cruise, so eagerly await your recommendation.

You will be here mid week in winter- all the beaches will be quiet.

Escambron is technically closed, but you can still go to the beach. It is just the services that are not available.

 

If you want services, you can go to La Playita in Condado. Cute little beach, food/drink, showers, and you can probably use the bathrooms at the Conrad if you talk to the guard.

Can we walk to Escambron?

Ditto for the other beach you recommended.

Technically, yes. I would say it is about 2 miles to Escambron from Pier 3/4. Just walk up to fort San Cristobal and then walk along the waters edge east until you get to the beach. It is a pretty walk, but a bit hot.

 

The beach in Condado is about 1/2 mile beyond that. (keep following the water and cross the old bridge they are working on to Condado). The beach is right at the end of the bridge.
