RCCL - Barcelona City & Airport Transfer - BR41

Hi, I did not do the airport transfer tour, but did the city transfer tour which was the same exact tour but instead of leaving you off at the airport it leaves you at the Playa Catalunya in the City Center of Barcelona for you to make you own way to your hotel if you are staying on in the city after the cruise. I thought it would be a good option because I was afraid to leave my bags unattended at the hotel before my room would be ready since check in was at 1pm and we got off the ship 8-9am. It worked awesome for us. The details are the same because both groups were together at all the sites.

You meet in a certain lounge at 8:15am, and are given a sticker with your bus number for your tour, and get off together as a group just like a regular shore excursion with a RCCL staffer. Once you are called, you go down and pick up your baggage from the terminal together, (you still put it out the night before but you have a specific luggage tag # only given to people with your excursion), and once you get your luggage you're directed outside to the bus that corresponds to your sticker. They store your luggage in the bus while you do the tour. They drove us around the city explaining the sites we were seeing, and took us to Park Guell where we walked around with the tour guide and had about an hour to explore, then we went to Sagrada Familia and got to take pictures outside as the guide told us about the building, and then got a tour inside. There were huge lines to get in (our guide said those people would be waiting over an hour and a half) but we were escorted in though the group tour line with only about a 5 minute wait which was great! The only thing we did not do was see the Olympic site which had been listed as time optional and obviously we did not have time. We got dropped off at about 12:40pm, so overall it was about a 4 hour tour. Our guide was excellent and very enthusiastic about his city :)

It's not a cheap tour, but my family only had one day to spend in Barcelona with a VERY early flight out Sunday (we had to get to the airport at 4am) which meant we were not going to be out late Sat night so we didn't have much time to spend seeing the sights. I would have loved to take the hop on hop off bus which is a great option if you have time, but we didn't have enough time to make that a viable option for what it would have cost us. Add in the taxi to get to the hotel from the port, the entrance fee to the basilica, the time we would have wasting waiting to get in, etc. and I can say I thought it was worth the cost.

Thank you so much! I think that is what we are going to do. We are not keen on driving a car in Barcelona city, and would rather a airport pick up.

Is it a far walk from the ship to the bus with our bags?

We will have our 5 year old with us, do they have washroom breaks? Is there one on the bus?

Thanks so much!!!!
