Brandonlees Posted November 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2010 So many choices on Last minute Travel! We are leaving on Jan 7th for our Jan 8th Liberty Cruise. There are so many choices on LMT.com Cant decide which would be the best. We are flying in the night before our cruise. We want somewhere close to eating places. The Courtyard Marriott Downtown is about 127 with tax while the IC Hotel is about 197.00 with tax. there is also the JW Marriott that is about 170 with tax. Or other places like the Conrad also for about 190.00 with tax. We will not have a rental car. Just taking a shuttle. to our hotel. We are flying in to FLL Airport. What would be the best bet for one night stay to be close enough to everything? Is the IC worth the extra 60 bucks to be a little closer or should we be okay with the Courtyard Marriott? Is it safe to walk from the Courtyard Marriott to the bayside marketplace? We will probly be getting to our hotel around 5:30 pm.
JohninDC Posted November 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2010 I'd save the money and stay at the Courtyard - more $$ for DODs! :D Skip Bayside, which is very touristy (can't you eat at Chilis or Hooters at home?), there are better places to dine in Miami. Good luck! :)

JohninDC Posted November 30, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2010 Downtown Miami gets pretty quiet and lonely after business hours, except for tourists and some of the homeless crowd.:( There's a Marriott and Doulbetree on Biscayne, just north of the port suggested by many cruisers on these boards. Views of POM from some rooms, some underground shopping/dining in the tunnels connecting hotels and condo buildings, the bar/dining room in the lobby of the Doubletree is very good, or walk 2 blocks to Biscayne and 18th an dine at Bin 18 - great food and an extensive wine and imported beer list :D (my favorite when in Miami on business!) If you want an area with hotels, dining, and shopping where you can stroll around then look at the Coconut Grove area - but you'll be away from the port and nowhere close to Miami Beach. Good luck!:)
thesawch Posted November 30, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2010 Just posted on the priceline hotwire link here. "We got the Biscayne Marriott for $96 plus $21 taxes and fees. Miami Downtown 3.5 stars January 10 for 1 night" I would try priceline.
