Cruise4Andy Posted February 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2005 Colombia: On Catalina Island, snorkeling is limited. You are much better off, in my opinion to rent some snorkel gear in St. Thomas or if you go over to St. John, visit Trunk Bay. Catalina Island features only a limited area to snorkel, which is right next to the dock along some rocks. It is marked off with rope, as also the swimming areas on the beach are marked. We rented a Jeep and skipped over to St. John via car barge! Trunk Bay features a snorkel path, including underwater signage, which explains marine life, corals, fish, etc. We actually brought our own snorkel gear, so we did not have to rent any. But car rental places offer gear for around $10 per day, and so do various spots along the beaches. Andy
