Getting from airport to cruise ship

We fly in to Miami airport at 10:00 am on the day of our Carnival Valor cruise. It will be 4 people. What is the best way to get to the cruise port? I know Carnival offers transportation for $16 per person. Is there any cheaper ways to get there?

The flat rate for cabs from MIA to POM is $24+tip - with 4 of you + bags you will likely need a mini-van cab. There will be a dispatcher organizing riders and the line of cabs - just tell him that you have 4 passengers + luggage. Same fare to get back from POM to MIA after your cruise. ;)

The flat rate only applies if you go straight to the port - if you ask the driver to go anywhere else - stop for soda/water/suntan lotion - you are on the meter, so shop fast!

Good luck! :)
