CodyC815 Posted December 5, 2010 #26 Share Posted December 5, 2010 I'm still in school and I've learned how to cruise on a budget, I've driven to ports on both coasts. Normally when I go it's with 3 or 4 people in one room so that cuts it down. I'm from Texas so I know the drive isn't exactly ideal, but if youre trying to save as much as you can, and you have a friend or two that can help make the drive in a straight shot, then that might be a cheap alternative. I'd rather drive to Florida than cruise Carnival from Galveston. Plus RCL has3 nights on the Majesty for $99. I'd much rather take the Radiance for $159, but if every cent counts... north29 Posted December 5, 2010 #27 Share Posted December 5, 2010 Wouldn't go on that ship if they paid me. Who wants to go for only 4 or 3 days anyway.Ok, I know there are some. Most uncomfortable seating on any ship I've been on. WOW, 3 and 4 day cruises on the Monarch are popular, especially the 3 day one. You cannot get a better deal if you live reasonably close to Port Canaveral and want a nice getaway or part of a vacation to the Orlando Theme parks. I do not know where you can go for around $500 that can compare, sure not in New York, Disney or South Beach, and have all the food, entertainment too. Well the Monarch rooms are more like a small camper than a big hotel room, but survivable. LOL Heck, I love to fish, and love Cedar Key, and after pricing hotels up there and the other expenses, the Cruise is Cheaper for 3 or 4 days. Maybe I can fish off the dock in Nassau LOL
jorapp Posted December 5, 2010 #28 Share Posted December 5, 2010 With Voyager in Galveston, there is an RCI ship close to home for OP, but I'd hazzard a guess that parents/in-laws live in Fla. OP, try watching this web page...it updates every week on Thurs/Fri for next week's specials. http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/royal/Multi_Dest/Special_Offers/rci_sales_event.pdf Hope this helps. ehfl Posted December 5, 2010 #29 Share Posted December 5, 2010 RCL has cruises for $99. I doubt you'll find much cheaper than that. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cruiseDetails/itineraryAndPricing.do;jsessionid=0000HVhpjkZ1Bmz98f0-iItuEam:12hdhu87a?packageCode=MJ03S018®ion=BAHAM&ship=ANY&date=ANY&selectedCurrencyCode=USD&promoType=&hasSenior=&hasMilitary=&hasFireandPolice=&state=FL
birdcat Posted December 5, 2010 #30 Share Posted December 5, 2010 Celebrity (sister line) Century has 4 night sailing on Dec 16 for $199/pp inside. RCL's Radiance of the Seas sails Dec 11 from Tampa on a five nighter for $239/pp inside. Ya can't get much cheaper than these - It would cost me that much to eat three meals/day at any local restaurant.
klingoncruiser Posted December 6, 2010 #31 Share Posted December 6, 2010 HiWe just wont be able to afford going on my favorite cruise line due to our budget this year. Can anyone recommend another line or ship? We will have a 7 year old, 44, 45, 72 and 74 year old. (very active seniors). We would love to port out of Canaveral. Thanks!!!!!!! Hey Neighbor. I also live in Harker Heights. We are doing NCL out of NOLA. However you might check out NCL out of Florida. Carnivore can be cheaper, but not always. Ander026 Posted December 6, 2010 #32 Share Posted December 6, 2010 If you live close to Canaveral, check the website many times as sometimes the Monarch has residence sails that are less than $200 a person for the 3 or 4 day cruise
Scotty G Posted December 6, 2010 #33 Share Posted December 6, 2010 Wouldn't go on that ship if they paid me. Who wants to go for only 4 or 3 days anyway.Ok, I know there are some. Most uncomfortable seating on any ship I've been on. Since 500,000 people cruise on Monarch and Majesty every year then there is no need for you to join them. Those of us that do are quite happy thank you! There are incredible deals to be had and if the OP from Texas keeps looking they may yet be able to get to cruise next year on an RCL ship out of Florida. Hope they have a happy new year and things get better fro the family!
