Hi, our cruise is getting close, (Rhapsody in March 2011) and I just wondered do all cabins have hairdryers, I have seen various posts where the cruise company's are cutting down on a few things, hope hairdryers are not one of them!!

Yes they do, however if you really like your own dryer you might want to bring it. The dryers are usually located in a drawer in the desk.

The hair dryers are the type you would find in any hotel that is mounted to the wall.

However on the cruise ships they are neatly tucked away in the top drawer of the mirrored vanity in the cabin. Not the bathroom.

There not that bad. They work.

Not high powered like a leaf blower, but they get the job done.

One hint, they shut off if you do not constantly hold the "ON" switch. So grab a rubber band, slip it over the handle over the on button and the switch will stay on till you are done.

I had no problem with the hairdryer, except that I couldn't find it! Who knew it would be stashed in a desk drawer!? What a crazy place to keep it! They should at least label that drawer or something. I had to go ask the cabin steward!

Well I'm going to find out next week how good the hairdryers are. I always bring my own but its really heavy. We're on the Navigator for 4 nights and only bringing one suitcase for the two of us so I'm leaving the hairdryer at home.
