njreindeer Posted June 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Hi all, Can anyone tell us first-timers how early you have to be back at the ship when returning from a port, both when the ship is docked and when there's a tender involved? We've planned some excursions (independent, not with the ship) and want to make sure we're not cutting anything too close. Also, is it true that the western-route ports (Labadee, Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios, Cozumel) are one-hour behind the ship's time? If that's the case, the extra hour will definitely help. Thanks very much! Time 'til Mariner on 8/29/04 -- our first cruise!
Serious Cruisers Posted June 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2004 last tender 'usually' leaves half hour before the ships sails. Same thing with docked ports.
BaumD Posted June 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2004 When you leave the ship, there will be a sign indicating the time that all passengers must be back on board or back at the tender dock.
vickisteve Posted June 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2004 One of the funniest things on a cruise is watching the late people running for the ship. Lots of people cheering or jeering them on. The ship will leave with out you and that is no fun. We always plan to be back an hour before sail time, just in case we run late. Steve
Catnip Posted June 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2004 30 min before sailing time........... (26 prior cruises & 2 flights on Concorde) It has been said that angels, while on Earth, aren't allowed to show their wings, but nothing was ever said about not showing their whiskers. <^..^>
