lilygoo Posted February 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2005 Hi everyone...I hope someone can help me here as I am overwhelmed trying to make plans. I would like to set up a western carribean cruise in late June for my family of 5. Can anyone tell me what the weather is like there at that time of year? Is that a very busy cruising season for families? I have never cruised before and just want to make it a great trip without pulling the kids out of school. Thanks! cali-croozer Posted February 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2005 We are cruising, mid-June this year, as soon as school is out. Although it's officially the beginning of hurricane season, most hurricanes happen in late summer and fall. We sailed the Western Carribean the same time 2 years ago and had great weather; only rain was when leaving Tampa and a 5 minute shower in Cozumel. Other than that, it was hot and humid, but not unbearable. The following sailing had a lot of rain (we know because we met people at the airport going home who were just off the ship----we had spent the week, post-cruise, at WDW and had no rain). It's just hit or miss, but we've been lucky, so far. As far as kids, yes, any time kids are out of school, they'll be on the cruise ship. However, it's a plus for families because your kids will find it easier to make friends at Camp Carnival (or other cruiseline kid programs).
