Where to buy kites and sand toys in OSJ

We'll be taking our 6-year-old to Old San Juan pre-cruise in April, and one of the things we want to do with her is fly kites outside of El Morro. The question is, where can we buy a decent quality kite in Old San Juan.

 

On that same note, is there a dollar store or somewhere we can pick up some cheap sand toys to take on the cruise with us?

 

I'm guessing maybe walgreens for both? But wanted to hear if anyone had better suggestions. Thanks!

There is a Walgreens (or similar) store in OSJ. There is also a Marshalls. That will be amazing to fly a kite there. There were many families with kites last time we were there, what a cool sight to see! Ice cream vendors too!

many souvenier stores carry kites and beach toys.

Thanks guys! I was thinking Walgreens but didn't know if they'd have good quality kites or just the cheap junk. I was in OSJ in Feb and didn't see kites in the souvenir shops, but wasn't really looking for them then. I guess we'll just wait til we get there and take our chances.

There are street vendors selling kites near the fort. Most are probably cheap kites, but I am sure there are some good ones for sale there too.
