melmich Posted December 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2010 Can we bring our small portable DVD player and plug in the tv on LOTS? It would be great if the kids could watch movies.
Cruzface Posted December 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2010 Yes you can. But the TV in your stateroom will be running fairly recent movies all day long so you may not want to bother.

No, you cannot hookup dvd player to the televisions. Hooking up has been disabled. Your kids will have to use the small screen unless you have a real suite. They have dvd players. I've heard people say that a universal remote allows you to hook an item to the TV, but I'm not tech-savvy enough to remember what they said. I haven't done it myself. At worst, they can watch the small DVD player.
basisqueen Posted December 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2010 If you're in a suite (which has DVD players) you can get some movies from the Concierge lounge. Of course, you can also bring your own DVDs on board as well.
jamesr3939 Posted December 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2010 We were on the LOTS in September in a GS and the kids were in a JS. We did have a DVD player they did not. However, the info about taking a universial remote is correct. My son bought one in St. Marttins and used it in his JS to access the aux inputs to hook up the Xbox. Otherwise you can not get them to work.
jamesr3939 Posted December 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 18, 2010 But keep in mind you have to look up the code for the TV to program the remote.
