Why? Michelle's mother chose to wear that dress. I'm sure she's not reading this board. :D

She's a public figure in that photo, and has plenty of money and resources to get any dress she wants. That she chose that one, and someone here thinks it looks like a tablecloth is fair game for comment, imo.

 

As for Michelle Obama, I think this dress looks great on her and I think the fullness hides her big hips. Also agree that black pumps are the right shoe for that dress.
