NYC Hotel?

I realize this has probably been asked before, but here goes. We are sailing on the Gem to Bermuda in June. Is there a convenient (nice) place to stay near the port? :confused:

Are you flying to NY or driving..it does make a difference if you need to park and don't want the expense of parking at the pier. If you are flying in there are a ton of hotels to choose from in Manhattan, if you are driving in then you can stay right across the Hudson and take the ferry (NY Waterways) or a car service for $45 to the pier. Homewood Suites in Edgewater has free parking and the ferry goes across in 7 minutes. If you research the boards you will see the great reviews. June is a great time to use the ferry the weather is beautiful.

I would second the vote for Homewood if you are driving and parking is an issue. We were originally booked there but then decided not to drive so we are now booked at Staybridge Suites Times Square. It's a newer hotel, seems to have a decent amount of room, is close to the port and I didn't find any bed bug reports! ;)

If you are flying, stay in Manhattan.

 

You don't want to stay near the pier, very industrial area.

 

Anything in the Midtown West area is a cheap cab ride to the pier.
