kate564 Posted February 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2005 Does anyone know about this shore excursion or what things are at the beach. Is there any parasailing around this beach? If not do you know which beaches have parasailing? Thanks
Cauvet Posted February 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2005 If you are asking about Las Caletas, they have kyaking, snorkeling and scuba and a little beach to swim around. I don't know if they have parasailing in PV--definitely in Mazatlan.
robntawn Posted February 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2005 PV has parasailing available at Los Muertos beach. Very easy to get there by bus or taxi...it's the main tourist beach. It's fun to grab a beachside table and chairs, have Coronas or mixed drinks brought to you, eat some authentic Mexican food, and barter with the beach vendors...all for very little pesos! Las Caletas is a nice tour. It used to be the private getaway for John Huston, and is a relaxing way to spend your time. Beautiful scenery, lots of hammocks, good snorkeling, and pretty good food. It isn't cheap, but compared to most shore excursions, it is worth the money.
nhcruiser Posted February 26, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2005 A few years ago we decided to spend the day at Las Caletas and it was a nice day. But, it was the entire day in Puerto Vallarta. We were unable to see anything else. Since then we have spent 10 days in Vallarta and would agree with robntawn and recommend spending your time in port at Los Muertos beach, which is near old town. I think that you will get a better "feel" for Vallarta for your time spent. Yes they do offer parasailing from at least two vendors at Los Muertos. pvpam Posted February 27, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2005 Both are great places! Caletas has it all (and is a full day) with some good snorkeling off the beach (about the only place you can find it around here), food, massage if you want and a good crew. Los Muertos is like watching a parade. Plop yourself down under a palapa and shop, drink and eat from your chair. Parasailing and jet skis, banana boats available. I like to recommend a small but very, very popular place called Fidencio's. Located sort of in front of the Tropicana Hotel, if you decide to spend the day here, you won't regret it!
