SamFritz Posted December 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2010 Five years ago I did the tour of the Chacchoben Ruins. I was especially impressed with our Tour Guide, Luis. Unfortunately my wife was not feeling well that day and was unable to go. We're going back to Costa Maya in February and are planning to take this tour. Does anyone know if Luis and his "Pan" flute are still giving the tours?

Dolfan-Neil Posted December 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 24, 2010 So has anybody even been to Chacchoben recently? Went last week with Native Choice. Great tour guides, highly recommend them.
KroozFoolz Posted December 25, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 25, 2010 We went several weeks ago, also with Native Choice. Our guide was a very nice young man named Eleu (not sure of the spelling, but he told us if we couldn't remember his name, just to say "Hey, You!") He learned all our names while we were on the bus going to the ruins.

He learned all our names while we were on the bus going to the ruins. We also had Eliu. Our roll call arranged enough people that we had a private tour with reduced cost and they had our bus meet us at the pier. I seem to remember that we needed 20 people to get the bus. TinkInOz Posted March 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Many years later in February, 2017... Luis, the pan flute, and his animal calls are still presenting tours! TinkInOz Posted April 13, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 13, 2017 Did you meet up with him through a ship's excursion, or arranged a tour privately? Our tour was booked as an excursion through the cruise ship Norwegian Getaway. No clue what company they contracted with for this particular excursion. But I have come to find him on the internet, and learned he is quite storied in his field! We were lucky to have him!
