CaribQween Posted December 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2010 Can anyone recommend a nice beach close to the pier that could be easily accessed by just grabbing a taxi? We will probably do a tour in the morning and then if we have time in the afternoon, we would like the chance to just hang out at a beach until it's time to get back to the ship. We would like it to be close to the pier mostly because we don't want to have to worry about fighting unexpected traffic or anything that might cause us to get back late. luv-to-cruz Posted January 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2011 CaribQueen, You might check out Cockspur Beach Club. It is very near the pier - you can see the cruise ship from the beach. It offers very clean changing rooms. The beach is narrow but for a very short distance from the ship, it might be what you are looking for. It rained as soon as we arrived. It was a ship excursion and was non-refundable. I would recommend taking a taxi on my own.
Sugar*Magnolia Posted January 3, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2011 People on our last cruise a week ago very much enjoyed Harbour Lights. It is private and right past Lobster Alive and the Boatyard. Not sure this will suit you for a short afternoon beach trip, but it is about 10 minutes from the pier. CaribQween Posted January 3, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted January 3, 2011 Thank you both. It seems like either of these would suit our purpose. We're just looking to enjoy a couple of hours hanging at a beach after a morning tour. Being close to the pier helps take off some of the pressure of missing the ship. We've never been to Barbados and can't wait.
