Costa Rica Cruise-Windstar-Update

We had a great time and met some very nice people. Windstar's size is very conducive to that or we just had an exceptionally nice crowd. The naturalist, Carlos, is very helpful and nice, as is most of the staff. Food is very good.

Currently doing a post cruise and the weather is unseasonably cool and windy. So, be prepared and bring something warm, just in case.

Enjoyed the whale watching in Bahia Drake and saw 6 whales, very close up.

Did a private tour of Manuel Antonio in Quepos which was very good. If you don't want to do an excursion in San Juan del Sur, the Pelican Eyes hotel is beautiful and will allow you to use their facilities. But be prepared for a long climb up to the top pool, 1 of 3. Very little shopping to speak of on this itinerary. Also, be prepared for mostly water landings.

Enjoy

Another vote for Pelican Eyes resort - we didn't want to do the bus trip so we arranged horseback riding in the a.m. and then were dropped at PE for lunch and the pool. They were very welcoming, and yes it is a hike to the restaurant at the top!
