Spender Nui Posted December 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2010 Now that the Veendam has had a season doing this what is the consensus? How cumbersome was the tendering? What about the lanai cabins. Would you do it again?

mudscraper Posted December 31, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2010 You`ll only tender the first day of your arrival. After that you`ll dock at Hamilton for the rest of your stay. If the weather isn`t condusive for tendering the ship will procede direct to Hamilton. They use a tender capable of holding hundreds of passengers but it was damaged in Sept. from the Hurricane. sapper1 Posted December 31, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2010 I just happened to be doing some future cruise searching on the HAL site and I noticed that the Veendam will not be doing Bermuda during Sept and Oct of 2012. She will be plying the Canada/New England route during that period. I suppose that would offer more bolt holes during the worst of the hurricane season. babygirl722 Posted January 2, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2011 I was on a Bermuda Veendam sailing this past August and absolutely loved it! While I didnt stay in a lanai cabin, I saw them and they looked great. You should do a search as there has been a lot written about the Veendam and the lanai cabins on this board.
