Star/San Pedro port/procedure to embark

Would someone tell me what the procedure is getting on the ship. We are in a suite on the Star. Does everyone go thru the same security line, then we look for signs for suite passengers? Been about 10 yrs since last cruise out of Miami(not in suite)

We are traveling with another couple(not in suite) we realize at some point we will be separated.

Thanks for your help. Dona

It really depend on what berth the Star is docked at. If it's 93, then you check-in first (through the VIP - Suite, etc line on the far left when you go in) then get escorted through security to the VIP lounge. That's where your key card will be. You will meet your butler and be escorted onto the ship. That's how it happend to me.

Normally, the Star is NOT at 93. Normally the Sapphire Princess is there and the Star is at another berth (can't remember the number 89 maybe?). If that's the case, I don't know the procedure. I'm sure it's similar.

Sometimes you go through security then check in and sometimes it's the other way. It depends on the port (berth).

We got on a week ago. The ship was at berth 93. When you are dropped of, the porter will take your checked luggage and you will not see it until later that day. Carry on what you need for the day. You will then show your ticket to get into the port. You will be asked to fill out a health questionnaire for each adult (adding your children on to one of the adult forms). The form focuses on gastrointestinal issues and fevers. You then go up an escalator. At that point look for the suites line. Last week it was in the middle. I would ask someone where you are supposed to be. Most people in the suite line did not have suites so by asking the port work "helped" everyone to get in the right line. You will be checked in and then walked to the VIP lounge. To get there you will have to go through security. This was just moved. It used to be just before you got on the ship. It is a vast improvement. In the lounge you will be greeted, etc. When you go on board you will be able to have lunch at Cagney's but your friends won't. You can go to the main dining room with them if you want. You can assume you will be on the ship much sooner than your friends unless you are both very early in which case you will be the ones in the lounge waiting to get on board. Does that help?
