Need Hilo Help

Hi Everybody

 

Here are my questions

 

Is it possible to do all three of these things in one day.

 

Tropical Botanical Gardens

 

Shop

 

Beach

 

How far is it to the beach and the gardens, does anyone know.

Are the gardens worth the time

Should be doable though depends on where you're planning on shopping and which beach you're going to. The gardens are relatively close to Hilo (http://www.htbg.com/) so it shouldn't be too far away and easy to get to if you have a rental car. Never been there myself so can't tell you how good they are and whether they're worth going to. Shopping - assuming you're talking about the town of Hilo (Big Island Candies and the like), that should be easily doable as well. That leaves beaches - Hilo isn't exactly known for its beaches. Was there one in particular that you were looking at?

It really depends on how long you spend in the gardens and how long you shop. We spent 3-4 hours in the gardens, but we took a lot of time as we enjoy that activitiy. We added lunch and a waterfall hike and still had some time.

 

Depends on how long you are ashore. Yes it can be done, but it will probably be tight. You have to allow for picking up and returning the car.
