When to book air from LAX to MIA or FLL

Need to get from LAX to either MIA or FLL for a Oct 8, 05 curise. When is a good time to buy air tickets?

The cruise is out of Miami but the airfare is cheaper to FLL...

I'd be searching now, at least to get an idea how the fares are. Not sure what kind of non-stop flights you'll get, but the longer you wait, the more risk of inconvenient connections.

I booked my airfare in Sept. for my April cruise.I got it for $206 round-trip, LA to FLL.It has not been cheaper since.If you find a rate near that I would book it,as long as you know you are definetly going on the cruise.

I have this same problem, but from Seattle. Actually, have booked ours using FF miles but watching fares for friends who are hoping for lower fares (currently about $300-$350 to Miami on their dates - but drop to about $248 if they adjust their dates a bit). Miami is CHEAPER than Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach is cheaper yet, for some reason.

 

I have encouraged them to bite at some point because what they might gain in savings, they could lose in convenience. What good is saving $50 when you add several hours and/or stops to your trip?

Check AA from LAX-MIA, they've recently cut their MIA fares... Keep in mind the cost of getting from FLL to the Port of Miami if you fly into FLL. You may spend your savings on transportation.
