I am one who really likes the auto tip feature. I, personally, have never, ever removed them and have tipped extra for excellent service. There was only one instance that the extra was not given.:)

I have yet to ever experience service that would be worth LESS than the minimum "hotel service charge". I have only once had service that was NOT worth an extra cash "tip". I think that's a pretty good track record!

When you check your printed copy of your shipboard account you will find the daily charge listed as HOTEL CHG. Why people insist on calling it a tip is beyond us. The ship issues the Hotel Chg.... we issue the tip.

He doesn't appear on the membership list either. He must have gotten frustrated with the forum, which is understandable.

That's actually a good way to put it, although the Hotel Chg will be confusing to some, as well as if they are not aware, some people will feel obligated to tip more as its not evident that the Hotel Chg goes to the crew.
