Aboat1 Posted January 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2011 We are departing on our first short 3 night cruise the 14th. Will there be a formal night? We are sailing the Monarch. We have only been on longer cruises and not sure what to expect on this week-end get away. Thanks in advance.

Just smart casual on the second night. Enjoy!!!
bmarchal Posted January 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2011 They do have a formal night on the 3 night sailings. It's usually the second evening. Peopel will be dressed every way you can think of. Some will be in tux and evening gowns and others will be dressed in suits and ladies with slacks and fancy bloouses. Then there will always be the folks with bluejeans and t-shirts but that's no big deal. We usually dress down and go to the WJ so we don't have to pack so much. We will be on the same sailing as you. We are going with my husband's parents and his brother & sister in law. It is a really nice weekend get away but be warned that we miss Coco Cay quite often because of the wind and high seas. While the motion on the ship might not be bad, it can be a little tricky getting on and off the tenders. Have a great cruise.

Shooraq Posted January 8, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2011 What used to be a formal night on day 2 is now smart casual. You will still find people dressing up formally and some people not dressing up much at all. I think RC realized that on such a short cruise, it isn't worth lugging the tux and prom dresses! Gotta aim for the carry-on suitcases only! :D
Cruzin-K Posted January 8, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2011 Majesty still has formal night. Monarch does smart casual. Majesty leaves Coco Cay before dinner on Day 2. Monarch is in Nassau until very late on Day 2. Different situations.
