ronews Posted January 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2011 Want to take $ for the Casino on the Solstice. Do they charge to cash US travelers checks? Also want to pay for my drink package this way. Any problems?
CHEZMARYLOU Posted January 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2011 They do not charge to cash travlers checks. Anything you buy on board, including a drink package, will be charged to your sea pass card. But, you can have travlers checks applied to the sea pass balance instead of getting the cash. At least you could on the Solstice in November. Mary Lou
kitty9 Posted January 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2011 You cannot pay for the drinks package with traveler's checks. It goes on your sign and sail card, unless you pay for it before your cruise departs, and with that, you pay with your credit card.

Also want to pay for my drink package this way. Any problems? No charge for cashing travelers checks. Your drink package can be paid prior to the cruise if you order it in time. Otherwise, just apply the money toward your seapass account near the end of the cruise.
CruisinNole Posted January 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2011 We often bring travelers checks and if we have any left, use them to pay down our sea pass charges. Plus, you can use them to get Euros, if need be and there's no fee to convert US $ to Euros. The exchange rate isn't the greatest but we found it comparable to our bank's exchange rate and no extra fees thrown in.
