Pepibon Posted January 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2011 We had our first ever cruise this year on the Freedom of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) Eastern Caribbean. We had an absolutely fantastic time! The best holiday ever! We are planning another cruise next year and we were wondering how Royal Caribbean, Freedom or Allure compare to the P&O Ventura. Although we love RC the choice of destinations is limited. The ports of call on the Ventura look amazing. We plan to stay in a suite so any advice would be appreciated. Jo and Rob Posted January 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2011 We have been on the Allure of the Seas which is so much nicer than the Freedom class ships (well Indy anyway) so if you liked the Freedom of the Seas you will love the Allure! We are trying P&O for the first time in April but my sister who has sailed on the Freedom of the Seas much prefers P&O as they have great touches (launderette, afternoon tea in the restaurant, kettles in the cabins, no service charge for the drinks, free shuttle bus provided at the ports) Have a great cruise whatever you chose! Royal Caribbean have fantastic ships an I do not think anyone could say that they were better or worse than any other ship with Princess/Holland America/Costa/Carnival or P&O. A P&O cruise is different not necessarily better. The main points are:- No mix of nationalities 99% Brit. Therefore the British cruiser is well catered for food, type of activities, entertainment. Joining your cruise at Barbados with P&O is a major plus as it is so easy and hassle free. Drinks are much cheaper on P&O with no 15% added on for service. The recommended tip amounts are also cheaper. The only way you will know is to go for it, with an open mind, and have just as much fun as on any other line. :):)Happy Cruising:):) Dai
