No casinos in Bermuda - gambling is illegal here. Ozone no longer exists, however, there are lots of other nightclubs on Front Street and a few of the more upscale ones on Bermudiana Road in Hamilton. Each has its own vibe and style so just visit each one and settle down at the one you like best. They're all within walking distance of one another. Keep in mind that, much like everything else in Bermuda, drinks are expensive as well.

It sounds like you're a native!

I'd LOVE to establish communication with you. I've been visiting Bermuda each summer since my childhood (I'm now 48) and can vaguely remember the "40 Thieves" night club located upstairs on Front Street.

Do you have any suggestions for a swanky disco-type atmosphere on the island? We'll be visiting in June by cruise ship porting in King's Wharf. I visited the night club at Snorkel Beach last July and liked it. I was hoping to hear of another pulsing night club where we might visit with our kids who are in their early to mid 20s. The tend to enjoy a more posh atmosphere.

Many thanks!!!!

cruiser willy, yes, I am a native - born and raised! Unfortunately, I have little to no accent and my hours spent locked away in an office all day means that I have little to no tan so most people don't realise I am actually Bermudian :D

I'm not much of a club goer, myself, so I'm recommending these places based on what a friend of mine recommends to visitors (he's a night manager at Tuckers Point - one of the higher end hotels here on the island).

Moon, which is on Front Street. Very swanky, EXCELLENT security (they use facial recognition software at the door to keep out troublemakers) and, from what I understand, the music is very good.

If you don't care for Moon, then head to Bermudiana Road - home of a few of the other swanky spots in town. There's Ferrari Bar at LV's and there's also the Opus Lounge.

The Cellar at the Fairmont Southampton Princess is also a great place to go and it saves you from having to go all the way into Hamilton to find a swanky club.

Has Cafe Cairo reopened? When I was there last summer it was closed for renovations.

Thanks Sousak for some very valuable info!!!! We'll surely be utilizing your great advice.

Though I'm very happily married, I'm now considering dumping the wife in order to offer ask for your hand in marriage. I hear it's the only way to become a Bermudian. I love your island!!!!! Perhaps we can find an islander for one or both of my kids to marry!?!?!?!? My son is 22 and my daughter is 18. Surely once they're residents - they'd be able to offer lodging to their parents!!!!!

Thanks again!

cruiserwilly, you crack me up - hahaha!!! There is the option of marrying off your kids - though you'll have to wait 10 years before they officially become Bermudian and even then they'll only get their Bermudian status if their spouse gives permission!

Charles 4515, I believe Cafe Cairo has reopened.
