Allure's Blue Planet Show

On our April 10-17 cruise, it shows the Blue Planet on Friday and Saturday. Are these the same show?

Yes they are all the same.

 

The show is very unique as it combines singing, dancing and acrobats in some unique sets. I recommend getting to the show 45 minutes early so you can be there when the doors open and get a seat in the middle area. The tumbling part cannot be seen from the wings. They do put it on the TV's beside the stage so you can see it.

It's a bit Cirque du Soleilish, along with some typical song-and-dance numbers, and some incredible effects. I won't spoil it for you by describing them, but this show is wonderful. The diving show is also very special.

Do you think our five year old grandson who is used to sitting through all the big shows at Disney, Universal and SeaWold would enjoy Blue Planet?

 

They live in Orlando but we haven't been to see Cirque du Soleil yet.

I believe your grandson would love it. We took our 3 yr old daughter and she couldn't stop oohing and aahing!! Blue Planet is an amazing show. We were scheduled for the Saturday night show but after getting a sneak peak at the 9pm Friday night (we stood in the back), we went on standby and was able to get into the 11pm show. It was worth it! Make sure you get there early and sit on the first level. We saw it on the 2nd level the first time but realised that the lower level was much better to see the visual effects. Have fun!!

As opposed to previous posters, I would say it was a good show, and as the Cirque thing is the latest trend on cruise ships (I have seen a variation on four different ships, including two different lines in the past year), I would say it is far from unique.

 

There are three or four really good effects and acts within the show, but it is not the best show you will see on this cruise, and not the best of its type at sea.

 

I would be surprised if you didn't enjoy it though. It's good and as long as you get there early and don't let yourself get wound up by the chair savers you will have a good time.

Thought BLUE PLANET was excellent, OCEANARIA was very good and CHICAGO was good, but can't quite put my finger on why I wasn't that impressed, though the performers were very good.

 

ICE GAMES was fine, enjoyed the Russian 'kite skaters'. Headliner, MOSAIC, was good and the comedians were also good. The first comedian was VERY GOOD, there was a polish to him.

Just came off Allure last Sunday and I can say this show is fantastic -- definitely not one to miss. My second favorite was Ocean Aria. Best shows I have ever seen at sea.

We sailed in March and saw the Blue Planet. I wish we had not waited to see it on our last night at sea because I would have loved to see it again. Loved it!

Just before the show started the told us it was Adult and asked if there was anyone under 18 in the audience. Definetly adult humor and very very good!

 

We also loved Blue Planet, I think sitting in the lower section but back a bit in the middle would be perfect. We were in the 4th row on the aisle and missed a few things because we were too close!

We are doing a B2B and plan to see it both weeks. Book this as soon as it is available to you for your cruise. Do not miss this one or the diving show Oceanairia.

If you just show up, you will have to wait in the stand-by line. By the time they let you into the show which is ten minutes before the show's start, the best seats will be gone. In fact, all seats may be gone. If the stand-by line is long, those in the rear of the line may or may not get in. If you really, really want to see a particlar show, I urge you to make advance reservations to avoid the stand-by line.

 

This advice is especially true for Ocean Aria because there is less seating than in the theater. The other venue is the Comedy Club which is very small, so seats fill up fast and the folks with reservations get the best seats first. For example, you might get a seat, but it might be behind a support column or it might be right up front where you could be picked out by a comedian for his jokes.

Best way to describe it: Its like the Power Rangers and Barry Manilow got together to make a show for tree-huggers. Also had a bit that reminded me of that alien that sang on stage from the "Fifth Element" movie. Get in some more Texas Hold'em in the casino instead.

It's a great show. We have now seen it a few times and it still is just as enjoyable as the first time. Do not miss this show.

we thought it was the best show we've seen on any cruise ship. Although we did prefer Hairspray on the Oasis over Chicago on the Allure. Either way, all the shows on both these ships are incredible.

 

Anything is better than enduring yet another typical royal singers and dance production.

I was beginning to think there was something wrong with me so I'm glad I'm not alone. I found this show terrible. The singing was horrendous and to be honest I just couldn't get past this.

 

I think the whole production was very badly put together. The artists apart from the singers were good and the show show should have been amazing but just wasn't, unfortunately.
