Star GTY Mini-Suite

I was booked in an outside cabin for an upcoming MR cruise on the Star, but I decided to upgrade to a balcony. I noticed that an AG (GTY) mini-suite was the same price as the balcony that I was looking at, so I booked that instead and I have a few questions.

1. When a cabin is assigned to you, do they send you an email or something to notify you or do you have to keep checking?

2. Does having a GTY cabin increase your chances for an upsell? Is there a chance that they will assign me something higher than a mini-suite?

3. I know that the mini-suite doesn't have suite perks, but is there a separate balcony/mini-suite boarding line at San Pedro?

This is going to be the slowest 2 and a half months EVER!!! :D

Nothing was sent, but one day the cabin number was on myncl. It is my understanding that sometimes you don't know until the day you arrive!

The whole upsell/grade thing is a mysterious process, I have heard everything on this board, but bottom line: never count on it!

The lines in San Pedro did not have a different queue for balcony/mini, just for Penthouses and above and Latitudes, but I have seen Latitudes that were only for Silver and above.

I can only tell you how things were for me the last time, everything is subject to change!

We are sailing on Star MR 3/19 but it sounds like you are not on that cruise. Join the roll call for your cruise, should be fun!
