Older Teens activities?

I'm planning a first-time short cruise for my extended family. Most of them live in Tampa. We will have all ages from 3-75 and one mobility-impaired in a wheelchair. The Inspiration would be the most convenient but I see that their organized teen activities are only geared up to 15 year-olds. We will have at least three 16-17 yr olds. Is there a teen facility for them? Will our mobility-impaired member be comfortable on this ship? Thanks!!!

I'm not familiar with what the Inspiration has to offer as far as facilities for teens. I will make one really important suggestion! Be sure that they look in the Capers when they get on board and find out when the Meet and Greet is for teens. It is the first evening and very important for them to attend. Remember that everyone there is in the same boat...they all need to make friends. This is a great opportunity to meet new faces. They will have a blast.

When we went on the Pride 2 years ago, the teen activities were only for the 12-15 y/o's. Now there apparantly a new program called "Club 02" for the 15-17 y/o's. The first time I heard about it was on this board this morning. Someone had mentioned seeing it in the '05-'06 brochure so I looked at mine and sure enough, there it was on page 5. Here is what the brochure says:

Club 02 for teens

Exclusive program for 15 through 17 years of age.

Teen Club with dancing, music, video games, movies and more.

Fun parties, activities, sports and shore excursions.

Teen Director on board every ship.

My kids will be 15 and 17 next year when we plan to cruise and I was seriously considering RCI because they have older teen programs but I wasn't thrilled about spending the extra $ on RCI. I'm excited about this. All I really care about is that there is a teen meet and greet on the 1st night so my kids can meet other teens. This was how they met others on our last cruise. They were 12 and 14 then. I was worried that my now 16 y/o (17 when we cruise) would have trouble meeting others his age this time.

The Carnival brochure decription applies to all Carnival Ships, however, only the larger ships have a designated teen lounge. There will still be activities for this age group on the Inspiration, but, unless they've added it recently, there is no teen lounge. Try posting a new thread specific to the Inpiration so more people will see it.

PS.......go into any travel agency and get a Carnival brochure. It's great to have the pictures and deck plans right there without going to a computer. Kids love to look at it too!

It's my understanding that only the Conquest class (the largest of all carnival ships) have teen only disco's. When we were on the Pride (Spirit calss), teens had the disco until 11:15 then they were moved to another lounge. Didn't matter to my kids. They had a blast. The Inspiration may have a similar arrangement for the teens in the disco.

Hi, I am 13 myself, and I didn't do camp carnival my last cruise, although I went to the sing-up thing just in case. I just meet people my age around the pool area or sports deck. As long as your teens aren't to shy, I think that they won't have to hard of a time.

My kids didn't actually participate in the teen activities except for the meet & greet on the 1st night. That's the easiest way to meet other kids. After that, they just hung out with their new friends and had a blast. Now that my kids will fall into the older (15-17) age group, I just want there to be another meet and greet for them to meet other teens again.

Actually we just cruised on Fantasy (an older ship) in November and are sailing on her again in April. Even on that 'older' ship , there was a teen lounge. It was not listed in any of the brochures because from what I understand, they had just recently made it into a 'teen lounge'. It's called Spirals and at least on the Fantasy, it was very close to the arcade room on the same deck as the casino, cats lounge, etc etc.

Oh, and we found out about it by reading the Capers as soon as we boarded and scanned it for anything that said 'teen' or '15-17'

All the teens (15-17) seemed to meet up there (including the two teens with me) and either hung out there, in the arcade room, and in the Cats Lounge (dancing/disco).

What is nice is that to get into the teen lounge , the teen MUST be between 15 and 17. No younger kids can get in, and for that matter- Adults are not allowed in either. There is a teen supervisor (or more) that stay in the teen center more or less guarding the door and just making sure all is cool with the kids.

My two teens had a blast!

Hope that helps a bit.

This is what the book says. I too would like to know for sure if they have a meet and greet since I think that's probably the most important activity. I would assume that there would be something but if anyone out there know for sure, let us know.
