cruiseanywhere2 Posted January 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2011 We have booked a cabin on deck A and looking at the deck plans noticed there is a space above our cabin on the lido deck which is not labelled. I wondered if anyone knows what is in this space. Thank you for your help.
BrianI Posted January 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2011 It would help to get a response if you said which cabin you are referring to. Brian
cruiseanywhere2 Posted January 20, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted January 20, 2011 Thanks Brian, cabin number A206.
PrincessPete Posted January 20, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2011 As the Bridge is just above you I would imagine they are Officer's cabins. Hope this helps and doubtless someone else will confirm or say if I am wrong. Kind regards. Pete
BrianI Posted January 20, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2011 Its the lido deck. There are some tables and chairs there where people eat from the Conservatory (self service). Its nowhere near the bridge as its midships. Dont see that you would have any problem although its near where the table and chairs give way to sunloungers so there maybe a remote possiblity of getting a bit of noise early morning from moving sun loungers. Smee Posted January 20, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2011 Brian's right, no problem from above. The biggest problem with noise in your cabin is always loud people walking down the corridor past your cabin, or worse next door...........
PrincessPete Posted January 20, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 20, 2011 Brian, on my deck plan cabin A206 on the Oceana is the most forward cabin on the port side and therefore just under the Bridge. Your response would be right for Oriana as that cabin on her is midships. On the Oceana the cabin referred to is definitely under the Bridge. Hope this helps. Kind regards. cruiseanywhere2 Posted January 20, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted January 20, 2011 Thank you for very speedy responses. Our cabin is indeed the most forward cabin on the left. Nice to know what is above you. Really looking forward to our trip.

Peter Hi, sorry about that and I did look at Oriana rather than Oceana. The cabin is under the bridge. Brian
cruiseanywhere2 Posted January 20, 2011 Author #10 Share Posted January 20, 2011 Thanks Brian, easy mistake to make. It is our first trip on the Oceana although we have cruised on the Oriana. We have also been on Thomsons ships and both OV ships. I am really looking forward to our cruise and chose Oceana as it sailed from Southampton and didn't fancy the Ventura as it is a very large ship. Any other tips from people who have been on the Oceana would be most welcome.
