Rare crewsweeper Posted January 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2011 We are going to Belize in April and would love to snorkel Glovers Reef. Anyone know of any tour operators doing day trips there? If you're going to Belize via cruise ship, you're docking in Belize City. Glovers Reef is south east of BC by quite a distance, it's maybe 110 kilometers from BC. By land it's a 3 1/2 hour bus ride from BC to the mainland pier where the resort boats pick you up. Then a 2 1/2 hour boat ride out to the reef. You can shorten this a couple of hours maybe (if you get lucky on cabs and flight times) by flying down to Dangriga, But you are still going to have an 1 1/2 cab/bus ride to the resort pier. No way on a 7 hour cruise ship visit will you be able to get there and back. SlickRock Adventures runs a kayaking/snorkeling/ dive tour to there where they go by boat from BC (About a 3 hour trip) but there's a minimum stay of 9 days, for their package. Sorry, save Glover for a land visit to southern Belize.
clashley Posted January 28, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted January 28, 2011 enlightning...thank you very much! Any opinions on a good option for our day here? This port has us stumped as to what we should choose. We have never been and want the best experience. We love the water but have also heard the cave tubing is fun...we don't want to leave dissapointed.
