Careful about what you wish for, don’t you think it’s a little strange having that huge gap between D+ and “Pinnacle”?

Wait six months and see if another tier is added between the too tiers, or they up the D+ points.

LOVE IT...LOVE IT....LOVE IT....now if they could do something about the overcrowding in the C.L. it would be fabulous!!!!:)

There are actually 2 tiers between D+ and Pinnacle. One at 350 points and the other at 525 points. These existed before the change to points, at 49 and 74 credits. These levels never had a name, just like now. Each tier added an amenity and expanded the amenity list, so that at 525 points Royal gives 3 amenities per 7 day or longer cruise. There are a couple of other benefits at the 350 point level, such as singles can book at 150%, and dinner with an officer.

Hi all,

I have to comment on the conversion from credits to points. Overall we were pleased, and we think that RCCL did a fine job. It was really very fair and the conversion was generous. That said, I have a complaint, and Crown and Anchor seems to be ignoring my emails about it.

We sailed on the Radiance on Jan 13th, and got off the ship on the 17th. So under the old system that was a credit. So we should have gotten the full benefit of the credit since the sailing was completed before the new system went into effect; however, since RCCL is so slow crediting to your account, this sailing was not posted by the 21st. So even though the sailing was completed under the old system, our credit (or now points) was applied under the new system. Not fair, I say. We are penalized because RCCL was so slow in applying credits. Even the literature mailed out says that the system went into effect on the 21st.

Come on Crown and Anchor, you need to be consistent and if the cruise was completed under the old system, these folks all need to have their credits converted to points under the system in place when they sailed.

RCCL and Crown and Anchor, we love you anyway, but this was not good. You tried so hard to be fair, but this is wrong. Why ruin a good thing by not following through and doing the correct conversion for those loyal folks who had already sailed.

The conversion date for credits to points was January 12, 2011 and this was for all C&A Members. The points started with all sailings beginning after January 21, 2011.

I would call C&A as your cruise might have to be manually added.

And it states at the RCI website what dates the changes are to take place on each ship - dates being the first cruise after the announcement on the 21. So for Radiance the change was listed as Jan. 22.

You are right.

As for this Jan 12 date I've seen mentioned as when the points were converted. I sure never saw that mentioned as a true date of change - not by RCI - only as a rumor started on cruise critic. I'd like to see this date in writing at the RCI website.

The only legitimate dates I've seen are the ones posted at the RCI site which I've mentioned.

They actually did the same thing to me that they did to you only I was on the cruise following yours. It began before the changes so I would think it would have qualified as 2 cruise credits since I was in a JS. It should have been converted to 14 cruise points just as everyone else who got the benefit of that generous conversion.

As it turned out, they met me half way and manually converted the JS to 10 cruise points instead of the 5 they had listed. I'd say your cruise definitely should have been adjusted to 7 full cruise points (or 14 if in a suite). It's not even borderline.

My account says "as of January 21" my cruise credits were converted to points. I don't believe anyone's points were converted on January 12 and if they were, it's wrong.

The C&A changes on RD were to begin on January 22 as stated on the RCI website.

No wonder you can't find the info. The jan. 12 date does not have anything to do with converting points. It says and I quote, "the cruise credits reflect all cruises that have been applied to your account as of Jan. 12"

The jan12th date is a cutoff date for cruises being applied under the old way. Any cruises applied after that date to your account will be done by the new point system. Not a rumor at all, sitting here holding the info in my hand. The points conversion was done on Jan 21

Where do you find this info that you have printed and are holding in your hand? Where did you get it? I've seen nothing that states that. I only have the as of January 21 date on the "my cruises" screen and listed in the faq pages of RCI.

The page I have printed with the dates of the program changes as they apply to each ship apparently isn't on line anymore in the faqs.

I'm not sure where that is. I did the January 7th sailing on the Majesty. Got off on the 10th. Had my account credited on the 18th, and had the credits converted to points on the 21st like the rest of my credits. So that Jan. 12th date did not happen with my account.

I gave up on c/a IT. Ours is still screwed up, they have changed it 5 times since the 21st and even voided one of our c/a #'s and started from scratch- its still not right. as long as we get our balcony discount we don't care, we don't cruise for levels.

Anyone have the new coupon books and what they include for the other levels of C&A? This would be fore Platinum, Emerald and Diamond.

Thanks!

Why would that thread help answer her question?

Let's see if I can explain it to you.

She asked for the coupon books.

The link goes to the thread about coupon books.

Perhaps that is the reason?

It appears some people got a brochure. I sure didn't as I suspect most didn't. And the date on the brochure if it says the 12th, is wrong. It apparently was the initial planned date but the website states the real date of the 21st as does everyone's "my cruise" site. I'd consider the date of the 12th to be wrong and irrelevant...just as wrong as the emails some got welcoming them to pinnacle when they weren't eligible.

We had a duel C&A number that suddenly appeared just days before the 12th...I made a point of having it cleared up prior to that date...fortunately it was taken care of promptly.

Somewhere hopefully sooner than later they will have the credits adjusted. Most of us had no problems a few did. New system I guess, hopefully most of the kinks are being smoothed out:) Edited by koterry

Not to be a trouble maker, but the linked thread is old and not up to date. That information is for the old coupon books.

The new coupon books are mostly the same but there are 3 additions to the D+/Pinnacle book.

Those 3 are:

Art Actually - $100 off your purchase of $1000 or more.

Pets at Seas - 10% off your pets at sea package which includes a pet and outfit.

Britto Collectible - 10% off a Romero Britto Collectible

I can't imagine these 3 additions mean much to most people. But they are in the current coupon book. I have no idea if they are in the other level books.

Even though the coupon books in my link were issued July 1, 2010, the contents that are listed are the most current available. As you said they added the three new coupons which, IMHO, don't amount to much, though for families the Pets at Sea could be useful. The other coupons have not changed and this is basically what people are interested in.

I've been told there is a book for Gold, Platinum & Emerald, Diamond and Diamond Plus & Pinnacle. I will confirm that when we are on EN in April and update my list at that time.

If someone else is going on a cruise earlier than April and would like to take time out of their cruise to sit in the LA's area and write down each and every coupon like I did in September by tier level, come home and edit the current list........please feel free to do so.:D

Let's see if I can explain it to you:

Those specific coupon books are not, in fact, what she asked for but rather the old books prior to the changes. As she specifically asked for the "new" coupon books, your link was not at all pertinent to the question asked.

A simple use of the search function would have resulted in your having noticed that those specific coupon books were not the new ones. :D

Thanks to mommabean for answering the question.

Since I am the one that provided the contents of the coupon books in the link that Carol provided.........those are both the old coupons and the new coupons with the exception of what Gina has added. We are very familiar with the search function. It is a tool I used constantly when answering questions as does Carol.

Those coupons were issued July 1, 2010.........just 7 months ago.......a little too early, IMHO, for C&A to completely revamp them.

I have bundles of old, old coupon books when they were produced by "version" and after looking at them earlier...........the same coupons were available for several years if not more........the only difference being that when they were reprinted, the new printing received a new "version" number.

I haven't seen anyone produce new contents to the new books that are now being handed out on the ships. So, until someone can give an accurate word for word description of what is included in each tier level, then that is the link that I will provide when questions come up because that is the most accurate link that we have to date.

Thank you.

Just as people say the new coupons aren't of much interest, they tend to say the same thing about the majority of the old coupons. They are all in there though so it's worth noting.

I for one have seen the pets at sea and if I didn't have as much restraint as I have, I'd be inclined to buy one. :o I think a whole lot of people will use that coupon. I've witnessed the stuffing and purchasing of plenty of "pets".

Plenty of us have a negative impression of the art programs, past and present, on board. But there are a lot of people that get into the auctions, too. Now they have a coupon.

I, for one, have wondered why anyone would need a diamonds international coupon. But speaking to other people on board, I've been surprised at how many people have bought diamonds and other gemstones in port. I guess just because I'm not interested in jewels, it doesn't mean many other people aren't.

There's a coupon for everyone. I can't help but wonder why I keep collecting my casino keychains with my free spins.

I think the favorites for everyone have been and still are, the picture, internet minutes and free laundry.

And I still want my free Seattle's Best coffee - not the one with the specialty restaurant dining. I used to like the free bottle of water, too.

OK....if we must be EXACT...I'd change it to

immediately following gift shop and before fine jewelry-

artactually - $100 USD off your purchase of $1000 USD or more.

following the airbrushed tattoos and prior to the caricature -

PETS AT SEAS DISCOUNT - 10% off your Pets at Sea package which includes a pet and outfit.

and the very last coupon after DI -

BRITTO COLLECTIBLE - 10% off a Romero Britto Collectible

I suppose the hyphens can be removed. But they are what they are wherever they are located in the book.

Version 15 01/01/2011

Expiration 07/31/2011

I have thrown away all my old coupons because of the expiration date. I didn't think it would be nice to try to pass them off as still usable even if they are the same. Plus, the old ones say Diamond and Diamond Plus. The current ones say Diamond Plus and Pinnacle so they look pretty obvious even if no one checks the date. Not to mention...I have enough clutter around here. :p

BTW - I can't figure out how to put the dot in front of each line or I'd have plugged them into the list myself. ;)
