Which hotel has a better location and in a nicer area the Colon Hotel or the Hotel Ingaterra?

You can walk to nearly everything from Hotel Inglaterra, but IMO, my favorite hotel in Barcelona AND the best located is Hotel 1898.

I would say the same for the Hotel Colon as well.It is right in the middle of the old town area across from the Catherdral.
