Does Carnival tell you this in any way (especially when you book a 1A) ?

Dunno... although I've had cabins with upper bunks I've never traveled with more that just one other person...

Interestingly enough, the placard on the upper doesn't mention a weight limit:

Hmm,

My son weighs about 240. I am not sure if I trust the upper bunk! Especially after he eats a few meals during the week! I think I will sleep on the bunk! Thanks for the info. We were just talking about it yesterday!

We sail on the Dream this Saturday! Yipee!:D

How great for you! I love the Dream! She's a beautiful ship.

Please do me the favor of saying hi to Butch, your cruise director, for me. He's a great guy and a super cruise director.

By the way, you just might get to win a trivia thingy if you can spell his last name B E G O V I C H...

:D

On my first cruise, we have three women in the cabin: mom, me and my sister. We gave mom the bed and sis and I took the bunks. They were darned comfortable. I took the bottom and wished I'd gotten the top. She had a great view out the port hole. :)

I have slept in an upper bunk several times and am in the 300# range. Never sagged or felt unstable.

I am not sure where I read it but Mach is right about the 250# limit.

But...I know it will hold 300+ a little more.

It wasn't me:p(really!)

It did creek a little but no problems at all.

I will say that I am glad it wasn't over the bed I was sleeping on.:D
