Laurawantstocruise Posted January 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Hi everyone, I have been trying to research hotels but I seem to be running in circles. We are looking for two nights pre-cruise. My children are 5 & 7. We do not want to be in a 'bad' area and would like to be able to walk. We do not need to be near the beach. Maybe near Bayside market or a shopping mall. HOping to avoid a rental car, but use taxi. Might go to some activities for the kids. Hoping to spend around $150/night. Feb 17-19th. I know the boat show is that weekend so I am willing to spend a bit more if something is really good... Thanks in advance, Laura
JohninDC Posted January 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Taxis with children is a problem in Miami as the law requires the use of a car seat - that could be a lots of strapping in and strapping out. :( Boat show means everywhere will be crowded and expensive. I'm going to suggest that you look at hotels in the Blue Lagoon area near MIA (Hampton Inn, Homewood suites and others) with shopping and dining options within walking distance. Then use their free airport shuttle to go back to MIA and catch the Airpor Flyer bus to Miami Beach to explore, site see and enjoy lunch, etc. Here's a link with more bus info: http://www.miami-airport.com/pdfdoc/airport_flyer_brochure.pdf Good luck! :)
