Does Tropicante take credit cards or cash only?

To those of you who have been to Tropicante on Mahahaul Beach in Costa Maya, does Tropicante take credit cards or do we need to have cash with us?

This is the response I received from Steve at Tropicate in regards to credit cards.

 

We along with almost everyone in Mahahual do not take credit cards. No phone lines. There are a few ATM's but because they work off wireless, you can't always count on them. Bring dollars and everyone will take them. There is a money exchange next to my place that will exchange at at a rate just below a bank rate, today it is 11.2 pesos per dollar. My menu is in US dollars so no exchange is needed. Your dollars will work everywhere though and most who price in pesos, will do a straight 10 pesos to 1 dollar.
