Also met Alvin :) they were shooting the third chipmunks movie on the Dream last week and I was on board. I ran into the producers a bunch of times in the spa as well. LucyR. Posted January 31, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2011 I am a Survivor t.v. show addict and have seen all of the shows. I was on a Princess ship and walking near some stairs when I saw a Guy who had been on the Survivor Marqeses Inland show. He was one of my favorite cast member. I only remember his name as "The General". That was his nick-name. I was sooo happy to see him and he was happy to meet me. He told me that Kathy O"Brian which was also on the Survivor show was with him. We all had fun together on the ship and took photos together. They gave a lecture on their experience on the Survivor Show. There were about 200 hundred cruisers in attendance. I live in Hollywood and seeing Movie Stars is no big deal for me. I have met a lot of them through the years. My favorite experience was with James Earl Jones when I went to a Award show and I got to ride in his Limo to the show in Hollywood. I also knew Bob Hope and Dorthy Lamour who were old time actors. Too many to write about.
jebuell Posted January 31, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2011 I worked in Hollywood for many years so I've met a ton of "celebrities" at work. I've even seen a few of them in just their undies (I worked in wardrobe). But I don't think I ever saw one on a cruise. Well... unless you count my ex who was a child actor... though he's not exactly what you'd call a "celebrity".

frazzledrazzle16 Posted January 31, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2011 Never on a cruise, but pre-cruise twice. First time in New York, we were having lunch at Alice's Tea Cup and Michael Nouri was at the table next to us (he's the guy from Fashdance, been in a lot of movies, now he is on All My Children). I was the only one at my table that was facing him, and I knew my mom would freak out if she knew it was him because Flashdance is her favorite movie. He and his wife were joking around with us and my mom didn't recognize him until they left and we told her... She was really mad that I didnt spill the beans earlier, but forgave me when I showed her the picture I made her pose for with him right behind her. Second time, before our Mexican Riviera cruise I passed by Ron Jeremy at LAX. At first I thought he was a homeless man. :)

Cupcrazy Posted January 31, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 31, 2011 I was on the Triumph a few years ago and when we got on we found out it was the Detroit Tigers fan cruise. For me it was pretty cool because I am a big baseball fan. The biggest name was Curtis Granderson who now plays on the NY Yankees. I went up and talked to him a couple times and he was really nice. Cattie Posted January 31, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 31, 2011 Never met any on a cruise, but being in the casino industry I've met quite a few. Jerry Orbach was my favorite. He sat playing a $5 Let it Ride game with his wife. Signed autographs for everyone who asked and was so personal. The worse was Allen Iverson, he's a stiff that doesn't tip and is banned from quite a few casino's. I think his entourage is better behaved then he is! Norwaylin Posted January 31, 2011 #13 Share Posted January 31, 2011 On a cruise in 1997, I met Kirby Puckett (former baseball player for the Minnesota Twins). He was with his family and an entourage, but very nice and spoke to people. He was a very down-to-earth type guy. Also, on my first cruise, we were seated in the dining room with two former NFL players -- Art Hunter (formerly with Seattle Seahawks) and John Leypoldt (formerly with Buffalo Bills). They were both retired at the time and were part of the NCL "Football Folllies" entertainment. Art's wife and John's girlfriend were with them. We had a good time with them all week. Apparently they were originally seated with some single women who wanted to meet men and asked that the couples be moved to another table. My friend and I were in contact with John's girlfriend for a few years, but lost touch.
Rare Clearwater Posted January 31, 2011 #14 Share Posted January 31, 2011 I was on the Celebrity Milenium yrs ago and Regis was on it. He sat at a table a few away from us nightly. He seemed nice but annoyed when anyone spoke to him (I did not try). I noticed he wore THICK makeup. He was doing a book signing on board. Non cruise: Ate brunch next to Martin Scorsese which made me estatic Saw Tony Danza eons ago when he was on Who's The Boss eating dinner in NYC Saw Whoopi Goldberg three times which is odd. Once crossing the street in NYC, once at Epcot and once eating dinner in Tampa Met Oprah Met tons of rock stars over the yrs.. too many to count. KY Deb Posted January 31, 2011 #15 Share Posted January 31, 2011 We sailed with Jared from the Subway commercials, the one that lost hundreds of pounds. We were on the Diamond Princess sailing to the Mexican Riviera. Everyone was watching what he was eating!

hlb76 Posted January 31, 2011 #17 Share Posted January 31, 2011 Last year when we where on Liberty there was a group of french people on vacation. People kept flocking to this one gentleman. He must of been in his mid 20's. I did not find him overly attractive so I could not figure out what the deal was. After a couple of days seeing him entered in EVERYTHING and really hamming it up I figured out who he was. He was the French version of American idol. He would sign autographs, take pics, kiss babies. He was really kinda annoying I thought. He had to make a scene everywhere he went if people wher enot falling all over him he was not happy. By the end of the cruise I had to go see him sing in the Legends show, I am not a fan of this show but I figured might as well see the French idol. Of course when we got home I had to look him up and see what I could find. Well to my surprise I could find NOTHING! I guess when cruising w/ a group of strangers a person can be whom ever they want!! No wonder the guy rubbed me the wrong way he was a fake! mcwebber Posted January 31, 2011 #20 Share Posted January 31, 2011 Wasn't on a cruise, but cruise folks could have been in Key West when I met Jerry Lewis at Sloppy Joe's. I was talking with him about a friend whose mother's maiden name was the same as his real name. He said he "didn't have as many relatives when he was in the vegetable business." I replied, "That's because there wasn't as much lettuce around." He liked that joke.

Other airport sightings were Mr. Kathy Lee Gifford (Dallas), and the guy who played the mayor on Spin City (LGA), and Miley Cyrus' father last summer in Savannah. On ONE PLANE, we had Sally Struthers, the guy who does Roger Rabbit, and the governor from Massachusetts who used to be on Cheers, but I was busy ordering the chicken.
