7 Night Crossing

We are now looking at doing another Transatlantic on the Qm2 but I am concerned that it won’t feel the same as when we were doing the 6 night crossings.

I love to sit by the window lower down and watch the ship plough through the ocean but am unsure if it would feel like this on a 7 night crossing

Has anyone done both and what do you think of the 6 night v 7 night?

Thanks

We did a seven day eastbound and a six day westbound in May and June last year. Frankly I could not notice a change in the speed of the ship, but very much enjoyed haveing another day to enjoy my crossing. I did spend some time on two deck in the pub and in the casino which are close to water level. We were still moving at a pretty good rate of speed.

Enjoy the extra day.

I know you are talking about early June - rain & cold !! I never went on our balcony until New York City. Weather in the 40s. But had a good time indoors. People once in awhile could be seen walking the deck in coats.

Whatever the weather there is somewhere to enjoy it.

Eastbound we had a wonderful time, Great weather. As we left NYC (we had to use the Manhattan Cruise Terminal due to Damage at Red Hook) our suite faced aft, It was actually very hot until we started down the Hudson. It was pleasant all of the way east bound and in the UK as well. June is a wonderful month in England. Everything is in full bloom. It could not be nicer, but occasionally there will be a rainy day here and there.

As Wowzo mentioned, it was rainy and wet westbound on 1st June, but none the less a wonderful crossing. I have crossed in April, May, June, July, August, September and October, and find the weather always changeable. QM2 is the only true Atlantic Liner and a bit of rain, wind and wave, don't slow her down, nor the passengers enjoyment.

You can even go to the enclosed pool on 12 deck and swim and use the hot tub in absolute comfort. She is a great ship

I can certainly say that I am looking forward to my first Cunard cruise and am crossing June 10/11. I did get a balcony as I've crossed in the past and loved looking at the moon shining over the water. Looking forward to the trip, no matter, the weather as that is out of our control. Planning to rent a car in England and visit relatives. It would be nice if there was no rain but.... Judi
