Petunia1950 Posted January 31, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2011 We're on a westbound transatlantic leaving Barcelona at the end of October. Our first stop is Cartagena, where we depart at 5:00 p.m. to arrive in Cadiz the next day at 11:00 a.m. Does anyone know (or can anyone guess-timate) when we would pass through the Strait of Gibraltar? Overnight? Early morning? Any help is appreciated.

It will be very dark when you go through there. I remember seeing lights on the African side but that was about all. Sorry.
Petunia1950 Posted January 31, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted January 31, 2011 Thanks -- I was afraid of that. I was so hoping it would be early morning, so we'd at least get a view of the rock.

We were in a starboard side cabin, and could see the lights of Gibraltar, and the large "dark space" where The Rock is located. I would guess we were about ten miles or so away, so there weren't any details visible, just a large dark void in the lights to indicate where The Rock was located.
