first-timer this march. am american, female, traveling alone on 14 nite trip thru Malaysia and Thailand. anything I should be aware of, concerned about, etc. really know nothing about shipboard life, but am very much looking forward. just heard that I have to bring my own shampoo. what else? bottled water?

how about shore excursions? thought it would be simplest, and maybe safest, to book thru Costa. any comments.
