CELEBRITY CABIN (category X) ASSIGNED ON EMBARKATION ?

I am from Australia and ready to book my first Transatlantic though an Online Agent. Maybe this should be on the Celebrity thread, as we are sailing on the Celebrity Equinox ??

 

Whilst I will be booking a Balcony, their website states it is CATEGORY X and my Cabin will be only be assigned when I board the ship ? I assume it is unobstucted, but I would like to know what level of the ship I am on and confirmation as to what Category X actually is.

 

I also have a preference to be on the Starboard side, but dont know how to achieve this when I dont even know what kind of Cabin I have.

 

Can anyone advise, or had experience with Category X ?
