pb3 Posted February 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2011 Sadly I don't have time for a full week - is there such a thing as a shorter cruise? Thinking about going in May. Don't mind flying in and out of different cities. Thanks.

It takes awhile to get there, in the first place..and the 7 nights is hardly time to even begin to experience Alaska. You're in Canada? The shorter cruises leave from Vancouver, I think. chipmaster Posted February 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2011 May is early if it is as the other poster said only Ketchikan whats the point. You could look at a Southbound in May fly in to Anchorage and jump ship in Junuea, expensive, but save you 2 days. Sadly I don't have time for a full week - is there such a thing as a shorter cruise? emmtee Posted February 3, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2011 Wouldn't that be illegal?

Yep can't take a cruise from Anchorage to Juneau on a foreign ship, as it would violate the PVSA. They could take a cruise that departs from Vancouver and depart the ship mid-cruise, but not vice versa.
Putterdude Posted February 3, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2011 I haven't done a check of the various cruise lines but occasionally some of them do have a 4 day trip to Alaska...some that I am thinking of include Princess, Celebrity, and maybe NCL. pb3 Posted February 3, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted February 3, 2011 Thanks everyone - I'm looking at Carnival Spirit 6 nights departing Vancouver, returning to Seattle (bonus, never been there). Currently in negotiations with hubby - might have to postpone until 2012.
