Sea Days...what goes on??

Great question...we will be on the same cruise! Our last cruise had a port every day as well, and the cruise prior to that was almost 1.5 years ago at this point, so nice to see a refresher of what to do on sea days :D

Ginnyfyr, glad to meet another cruiser for the May 1st Repo Cruise on the Caribbean Princess. :) I looked and haven't seen you post on that sailings Roll Call blog. You really should read that roll call and see some of the great personalities that will be sailing with us. It sounds like we will be in good company. Here's the link:

Accept up front you are just not going to be able to do it all. If you try it won't turn into a relaxing cruise for you. Even with missing some thngs you will not be bored and yes, it will only give you a good excuse to take another cruise.

Thanks larsen, that is sound advice (but what if I want to do it all, he,he,he:p) And we really do want all that relaxing part...I just wish I had a crystal ball that could see into the event schedule for the entire sailing so I could plan ahead of time (yes, if you haven't noticed yet, I'm a planner :o) I'll just have to start accepting now, to "go with the flow":)

BTW, what does IMHO stand for??

On sea days, I enjoy the following schedule:

6:00 am, Room service breakfast

7:30 am Sit down breakfast in the dining room.

9:00 am Breakfast at the buffet

10:30 am A light snack

12:00 pm Lunch at the Buffet

1:00 pm A slice of pizza

2:00 pm Nap

3:00 pm Capuccino from the International Cafe

3:05 pm Ok, maybe just one of those pastries.

3:30 pm Mmmm. Cookies right out of the oven.

4:00 pm Whoops, time for afternoon tea and scones.

5:00 pm Stop by the wine bar for an appetizer

6:00 pm Early seating for dinner

7:30 pm Fill the sweet tooth with a little extra dessert from the buffet.

8:00 pm Another Nap

9:00 pm A slice of cake, and movies under the stars

9:30 pm Another nap, if the movie isn't too loud

10:30 pm Swing by the Cafe Caribe for a little something to sleep on.

11:30 pm Hey, they left fruit in the cabin!

Midnite: Time for bed.

Haha! Good to see you don't over indulge at all :D

Here is the Patter from our last Sea Day

Thank you so much, "Fore on the Floor" for the Patter and the video/pics. This is great insight into what goes on, onboard a Princess Cruise ship.

So far I just watched the beautiful video of the wake and waves and the sea bird gliding (set to music no less:)). Just makes me want to get onboard that much sooner (if that is possible:D)

I LOVE Sea Days. We are up, dressed, finished with the breakfast in the Horizon Court..(and I found it very good..and nicely arranged to avoid lines....loved the pastries..loved the jams.)..Then..locate where the first Trivia match will be held. Usually join a Team..or ask others to join us. MEET the NICEST PEOPLE this way. Great Fun. THEN..maybe another activity if it is scattergories or such...than find a quiet nook...read..watch the sea..Even when we have a balcony..I seldom go back to our cabin until Lunch..or after. Then..met DH for Lunch. Usually not hungry..so eat cookies...or salad. small. Then Cabin. Rest. Hopefully nap. then Casino, afternoon Trivia, International Cafe for a small sandwich and cookies..plus LATTE...window shop in shops..go in and see if they carry Shalimar..and usually they don't ..price the perfume my DD requested...then time to dress for dinner. Dinner at six. THEN...to theater..if a production to get a seat. DH comes later. then Casino. then.......if night time Trivia..for sure. That trumps the casino or Production. More fun.

In between...maybe Bingo Once. I never win. I get frustrated because my numbers are never called. Perfume Seminars..LOVE THEM. If the lecture is not a shopping thing..like the Lectures on Ports.

MY POINT.......THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME IN THE DAY...AND I DON'T CARE WHAT YOUR INTERESTS MAY BE..TO DO ALL YOU WANT TO DO.

YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT TIME! COUNT ON IT!:)

All you posters are fantastic!! What a fun read! Thank you..I really enjoyed these posts and actually learned a few things (after I stopped laughing):D

How about this, I booked our massages late afternoon, thinking we would be ready for a relaxing treatment around 3/4 o'clock and then we could shower and get ready for dinner. I'm afraid if I book something like The Sanctuary in the afternoon, we might miss a fun, pool game or something else fun. Do these "fun" game activities go on all day or they more likely to be scheduled in the afternoon (or morning)? Are these games repeated from one sea day to the next? For instance, if I reserve time somewhere on day 1 -sea day, I could catch the a game I missed on the 2nd sea day?

You catching my drift that I don't want to miss anything fun PLUS I want all the relaxing too?!!:p (All my problems should be this difficult, lol:D)

In other words, you want to do it all!! That's why some of us take so many cruises. Truth is, life is a series of choices. What you miss on this cruise, you do on the next..or the next...or the next!! If it's the seadays, next cruise will have more seadays. They are my favorite. Too bad Princess doesn't have at least two cruises to nowhere EVERY year! Those who love a port a day will take those cruises. Fortunately there are choices for everyone!! Just remember it is YOUR vacation. Even if we travel together with others there are always ways to customize what you enjoy most. Enjoy your cruise..............and the next one!
