ogtiger10 Posted February 6, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2011 Thinking of going but wasn't sure of the safety issues once outside of the port area. Also how reliable are the taxis to come back at the end of the day and getting you? We are 1 woman and 3 men. This seems like a less expensive day to be able to sit on the beach instead of paying $50 just for a boat ride to one. Local help, please??? The only "local" posting regularly on this board is wadethegringo who lives on Ambergris Caye but regularly travels to mainland Belize. He may or may not know the current situation with Cucumber Beach. Hopefully he'll chime in. However, you can contact Cucumber Beach and ask them for their hours of operation on the day of the week you will be in Belize. info@oldbelize.com or marketing@oldbelize.com As a general rule, when you hire a taxi in Belize or other Carribbean ports you should inquiry about return pick up and schedule a time to meet if taxis don't run regularly. If the facility isn't open or only the restuarant is open, there may not be a lot of regular taxi flow.
World Gallery Posted February 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2011 You may want to do a search for it in the search box on this site. I did that last year and did find some older reviews for it on CC. The few reviews I read were negative (some very negative) so we decided against it.
