Loft/ Suite perks, ask away

Recommended Posts

Stayed in a Loft Suite (Oasis 1-22/29), it was GREAT!!!! We were spoiled. If anyone has any questions on the loft or suite perks ask away. I will be back online Tues morning and will be more than glad to reply to any questions. I can not comment on any resturants or shows. Ate in the room or CL for most meals and because of the CL missed most shows. I wish I was still on the ship.

Slow today, was that meant to be a joke? Sorry if not.

Are you saying you missed the shows because you were in the lounge for 3 hours each night? We visited the CL each evening, generally staying for perhaps one drink (45 minutes) then set about the ship for dinner, shows, and casinos, whatever. We had late dinner and never had the CL interfere with any show or dinner arrangement.

I don't believe you are REQUIRED to stay in the CL for the entire 3 hours :)

Glad you enjoyed your cabin.

I'm looking at getting a Suite on Oasis and would like hearing what the perks are that you got out of being in a Suite on that ship.

Thanks.

Scott

Can a family of five book a loft suite? Any advice on what to book for a family with two adults and three kids (16,14,12). Thanks.

Only four in a Crown Loft and you don't want more than four in one any way.

I would suggest booking a balcony cabin for you and your husband and an inside for your kids.

I've seen that list, but I'm curious what the actual perks that she got out of it from a practical experience.

From other threads I've seen on here (i.e. Concierge) there seems to be a disconnect in some cases between RCI Marketing and actual ship operations. Some of the items in that list just look like fluff anyway. So curious what real benefits people are getting out in their own experiences.

Come on now. The OP didn't say they stayed in the concierge for 3 hrs but even if they did, it's their cruise. Their money, their time, their choice.

As long as there was plenty of room for everyone, I don't think it's fair to judge them.

We're booked in a JS...so I know that we won't get the extra perks just a bigger cabin and bigger balcony. I've considered upgrading to a GS in order to have access to the CL and also have full access to the menu for food in our suite for breakfast/lunch. I just thought that this may help alleviate some of the issues of crowding in the WJ during these times. Anyone have any input into this? Yes it will be more money and I know it's completely up to me if I want to spend it, but just curious if anyone out there thinks that this is a nice benefit.

Thanks everyone in advance.

No VIP pool deck seating anymore for the Oasis and Allure?

I haven't done this before, but am planning on booking a GS on Oasis for these same reasons too.

sblair...so good to hear that someone else thinks along the same lines as I do:D It would be a great benefit I think.

Does anyone know how crowded the VIP deck seating gets? Even though it isn't by pools it could be an advantage with having fewer guests with possibly a little more attention from the bartenders??

Islahopper, glad you had such a great time! Nice to get a break from reality, especially when it involves bad weather!

Sprout, we have had GS on our last two cruises and thoroughly enjoyed them. I have to confess, we loved the CL for two reasons, the cocktail hour with appetizers, and that crazy cappuccino machine that was available at all hours. I LOVE that thing! When I'm dragging about 4pm it is either the coffee or a nap. Did a bit of both...

This time we're looking forward to having access to the full menus, especially for breakfast. I'm hoping that we can order the full breakfast in room on port days.

We have never been told about some of the perks, like complimentary pressing but it may be new since we last sailed.

We are going on Oasis in June and look forward to a GS again. If we only get to cruise every three years, why not do it in comfort!

Whatever you decide, enjoy your cruise!

The seating for the suite guests on the Oasis was great. It was private and you didn't have to fight for a chair. There was a dedicated bartender just for the suite guests and the Pool attendant Fabian was very helpful.

This is the area for suite guests on Allure. It's called the Suite Sun Zone located on deck 17 forward. They also moved the two seat clamshells from the solarium up to this area. I never saw it that crowded when I was on the Allure last month.

Not crowded at all and there is a bar up there; however, when we were on the ship (September 2010) it was SOOOOOOOOOO windy up there but still very nice :D

We stayed in CL 1730 and while it was a tad pricey, it was worth the extra cost at least once in a lifetime :p Loved having views of Boardwalk, zip line, both Flowriders, Aqua Theater :) We also enjoyed being able to get meals/drinks in the concierge lounge and we enj

Um – Re-read the first few posts. I certainly do not care who spends how much time anywhere, and was not judging anyone. I was just surprised to hear that the “CL” kept the OP from seeing a show.

So this area isn't even crowded on sea days? That's another added bonus. Granted if we want to use the pool we would have to do that, but being able to find some lounge chairs near the bar would be awesome!! I'm thinking I don't need to talk myself into this anymore. Thanks everyone

We enjoyed being in the CL, we met some very nice people and every evening we all sat together in a group 8 to 12 people. It was very nice just to sit and chat, and with 5600 people on the ship it was nice to spend time without a crowd. I am in the bar business and I do like to drink. It was our cruise and we spent our time the way we wan't. Just for the record, I saw most of the ship and never went to bed before 1am, so if you think I may have been drunk, think again. The meeting of nice people just was better than going to a show. We did eat our evening meal in the cabin as we could order off the MDR menu. The food always arrived hot and the longest wait we had was 20 mins. I greatly enjoyed being able to eat in the room starring at the ocean. The only bad dish I had was the lobster, than again I'm from Maine so I'm spoiled when it comes to lobster. Breakfast and lunch in the CL was also very nice, never busy and cooked to order, plus free beer and wine at lunch. The suite area on deck 17 was very nice, never crowded and the service from Fabin and Berl was outstanding. Another nice thing was the suite dining area off the Windjammer, 1500 eating at once and we would eat with less than 20, I even had a officer carry my plate and escort me to my table. Did I mention that room service came with a tablecloth. In the Loft you didn't even have to get out of bed to open the curtins as there was a switch next to the bed that controlled them. Also the tv in the bedroom came down from the ceiling, too cool. The living room had a 52" tv with Bose speakers, I loved the sound so much that I bought a Bose system for our house, outstanding sound. Sorry to ramble folks, have a nice day.
