Can any one tell me what the Triple Play Chips are? Is it worth buying them prior to embarking?

yes, the chips can be used at table games and have a 5 dollar denonimation. You get 3 chips and you keep playing with those chips until you lose. The triple chips are no longer sold on the ships and only can be bought ahead of time. Good Luck!!!

So, if I understand correctly, if I buy the triple chips, I will get 3 $5 (red) chips. I place a $5 bet on blackjack. If I win, I get paid $5 (red), and the triple chip stays up for the next bet?

Because you get 3 for $10, worth $15. Also not quite the same because they cannot be cashed in.

I got one order of Triple Play Chips as a surprise for everyone on our trip. They will be in our stateroom when we arrive. Even though they're not worth much, I think it will be fun to go down to the casino and have a little guiltless fun with them :)

You can order one set of triple play chips, or other denominations of regular chips in advance from the Bon Voyage gifts list on NCL.com.

Ok, I get that part of the advantage to buying the Triple Play chips ahead of time is the 'free' extra chip you get....i'm just still not understanding the part that it 'stays up as long as you are winning'. Doesn't that happen anyways with your bet?

It does, but you lose it if you lose. The only difference is that it has no actual cash value, so you use it until it is gone. No cashing it in.

I'm still slightly confused on the terms of the triple play chips.

 

The Bon Voyage Gifts site states "Limit 1 per person". Does that mean that one person is limited to 1 chip or 1 set of 3 chips?

 

Also, is the "Limit 1 per person" per session at a table or for the entirety of the cruise (i.e., can you buy 5 sets, and use them at different times during the cruise)?

1 per person = 1 set per person. I tried to order for my father as a bon voyage gift but someone had beat me to it so I could not send him another.

 

I also don't get the "stays in play" thing. If you put a $5 from your pocket on a blackjack deal & win, they pay you & you keep the initial $5 you put down. If you lose, they take your $5. Does the stay in play mean if I place one of the $5 chips & win I can't walk away from the table? I have to keep playing until I lose?
